Westfield Donau Zentrum aims at becoming a place of inclusion where the community collaborates and finds solutions to achieve the targets of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations), with a particular focus on fighting poverty, enhancing health and children education and building an ecologically friendly and safe environment.
As part of the international group Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, Westfield Donau Zentrum has defined Better Places 2030, an ambitious CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy that addresses the main challenges facing commercial real estate.
Westfield Donau Zentrum sees the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) as an integral part of the overall CSR strategy. In line with its operations, the center contributes directly to a number of these goals and is well on its way to implementing these goals.
The Westfield Donau Zentrum contributes to counteracting food waste and growing mountains of rubbish through sustainability in the food area. The measures contribute to the continuous and sustainable avoidance of packaging waste and food waste. Recycling and the social aspect are also an essential part of the sustainability concept. In the last two years, around 200,000 tonnes of food have been saved.
