Going the extra mile

The HafenCity Rund took place once again on Saturday. In addition to the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier team, a total of 431 teams with over 14,000 runners were waiting for the start of the charity run.

The route, which stretches from the promenades along the harbour basins, via Versmannkai between Baakenparkbrücke and Amerigo-Vespucci-Platz, finishes at Kirchenpauerkai. A special aspect of the charity run is that athletic performance does not play a role. True to the motto "Taking part is everything", there is no timekeeping or other pressure to perform at northern Germany's largest company run.

As in previous years, the charity partner Hamburg Abendblatt hilft e. V. was supported financially with a portion of the registration fees. The association is committed to providing aids and organising various sports, leisure and therapy activities for children and young people.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has set itself the task of supporting specific institutions and projects in the areas of environmental protection, culture, education and social affairs every year. True to the "Better Places 2030" sustainability strategy, the company management specifically promotes the social commitment of employees to charitable projects at all locations in Europe.
