URW produces annually two social value reports for both of its centres in London – Westfield London in White City and Westfield Stratford City in east London.
The reports are produced by Social Value Portal – a third party subject expert organisation that helps companies measure and track their social value contributions. It acts as a data miner, partner and advisor for companies, and provides them with an indication of how their actions, projects or initiatives are having positive societal and environmental benefits for their local communities. The study analysis the asset management, property management and supply chain in place at the building. Since 2021 our UK assets have generated £60,192,231.
The commitment forms part of URW’s UK Community Resilience Programme – an action plan that consolidates all its work in its communities aligned to URW’s global ‘Better Places’ strategy which aims to drive positive economic and social impact within our communities through employment, training, and social inclusion. The approach being to map the local community issues and identify local stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives which positive impact three themes:

Since beginning its UK social value reporting in 2021, URW has generated over £60 million in social value, demonstrating its strong commitment to community and environmental initiatives.
Key contractor partners contributing to social value in their respective areas include Mitie, Ethos Farm, Grosvenor and OCS. Additionally, URW collaborates with local organisations around its centres to enhance social value efforts. These include Westfield London’s partnership with community organisation West Youth Zone in Hammersmith and Fulham, which creates opportunities and access to learning and activities for young people, and Westfield Stratford City’s partnership with Birkbeck University to support local residents in Newham with their studies.
Westfield Stratford City also contributes to a Community Fund that has already supported 60 local grassroots organisations. Recently, it announced another year of funding to assist an additional 20 organisations. URW also marked the launch of the second year of the Culture Exchange, part of the Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund - this five-year, £10 million program aims to foster inclusive social and economic value in East London. The event was honoured by the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, the Princess Royal.
