Malik Books will once again serve as the hub for celebrating Black Children’s Book Week with a special event featuring an incredible lineup of Black children's book authors. This marks the second year of this exciting celebration aimed at inspiring young readers and fostering a love of literature within the community. The event is FREE and will take place at Malik Books on Level 2, near See's Candies.

Families, educators, and book lovers are invited to join this empowering event filled with storytelling, book signings, and engaging activities for children.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Meet the Authors: A diverse group of talented Black authors will share their inspiring stories and books with young readers. This year’s featured authors include -
    • CJ Charles – My Mother is a Superhero
    • Tyonie Patterson – Tamia T. Scott: MeMaw's Garden (Tamia T. Scott Series)
    • Ingrid Estrada-Darley & Crystal Hawkins – Soul Sisters
    • Dr. D'yann Elaine Crosby – Sign with Me
    • Alexus Mozell – I Know I Can (Amir The Affirmation King Series)
    • Nadine A. Luke – They Call Me Africa
    • Latrice McGlothin- Hello Coco! Suds, Songs, and Aunt Fancy's Salad

  • Interactive Storytime: Attendees will experience engaging live readings from authors, creating a magical space for children to explore stories that affirm and celebrate their identities.
  • Book Signings and Meet & Greet: Guests will have the opportunity to meet the authors and have their books signed, making this an unforgettable experience for young readers.
