Investing in our city and our communities.

By adding thousands of new jobs and millions of dollars in annual tax revenues, the revitalization of Westfield UTC will act as a local economic driver, boosting both the University City economy and the broader San Diego region. These are funds the City can spend on key public projects and services, from schools and parks to road improvements - all without costing taxpayers a cent.

After completion, a revitalized UTC will generate:

• More than $60 million in annual sales and property tax revenues
• More than $10 million a year for vital City services such as police, firefighters, parks and libraries
• $40 million for transporation and other public works projects
• An additional $260 million for local and regional road and transit improvements over the 40-year life of Transnet
• More than 2,500 new full and part-time jobs
• More than 6, 000 construction jobs
