Mark your calendar for the Bike MS Bay to Bay Tour to be held October 10-11.
Voted “best cycling event” of 2006, 2007 and 2008 by the readers of Competitor magazine, the Bike MS Bay to Bay Tour is a memorable, fun-filled cycling adventure featuring fully-supported scenic routes along beautiful Orange and San Diego County coastline.
Avid cyclists and novices alike will be challenged to pedal 30, 100 or 150 miles over one or two days, and will enjoy delicious food and refreshments, shuttle transportation, live entertainment, prizes, cycling expo and overnight festival.
Each year, the Tour raises over $2 million towards creating a world free of multiple sclerosis, the most common neurological disease leading to disability in young adults – with no known cause or cure. Now in its 27th year and formerly called the MS 150 or MS Bike Tour, this is truly Southern California’s Premier Cycling Event.
The Carlsbad Celebration Festival at Westfield Plaza Camino Real in the Southwest parking lot will start its celebrations earlier in the day in 2009 because of the 30-mile route participants. Friends and family of all participants are encouraged to meet here to cheer on their loved ones and enjoy the expo area, Kids Zone and live music until 8pm.
The Carlsbad Festival site at the Westfield Shopping Center is also the location of the Day Two start for 100/150-mile participants.
