Champs Sports was acquired by the Company in 1987 to expand its portfolio of specialty athletic retail businesses to better meet the needs of a more diverse customer base. Its store footprint, which is somewhat larger than the Company’s other retail formats, provides the ability to offer an expanded assortment of athletic footwear, apparel and accessories targeted towards a suburban customer who is inspired or influenced by sports.
