The Canyon
The signature element of the new Westfield Topanga, The Canyon carves a luxuriously rugged corridor through the center of the building. With striking skylights fashioned into a breathtaking three-story glass atrium, The Canyon conveys a feel as natural and impressive as its namesake. Leading smoothly from the grand Owensmouth Entry into the heart of the center, The Canyon is accented with lush greenery, exquisite water features and the subtle touches of river rock and limestone. Bordering the expansive Canyon are two levels of high-end shops offering sophisticated retail in a clean and natural arrangement. Complimented by its unique architecture, The Canyon quietly draws passersby into its rich environment of flourishing vegetation and gardenlike passages.
Naturally sunlit with the blue sky as a backdrop, The Canyon is an oasis for customers to relax, shop or dine in a soothing and engaging environment.
North Grove/South Grove
Flanking Center Court on the north and south ends of the center, the Grove districts are dominated by massive banks of Washingtonian palm trees pleasantly creating the impression of a room within a room. Existing structural elements are clad with limestone and walnut and uniquely designed carts surround the towering palm trees with glowing light. Both Groves support two levels of extraordinary shopping with the North Grove offering an alluring selection of family, juniors and accessories and the South Grove serving as the houseware and home sector. The Groves are enhanced by elongated storefronts, four-story clear glass ceilings and an intricate pattern of skylights. The North Grove is supported by a two floor Robinsons-May and the South Grove is comfortably nestled in between Sears and Neiman Marcus. Each of the twin Groves has a conveniently located escalator connecting the two levels of retail. While similar in structure and shape, these two regions are distinguished from one and other by unique retail presentations and distinctive atmospheres enhanced by cool lighting in the North Grove and warm lighting in the South Grove.
Center Court
Possessing a powerful moniker as “Center” of Westfield Topanga’s shopping configuration, Center Court achieves this honor with its regal architecture and striking structural elements. As an extension of the serene Canyon retreat, the Center Court environment is rich with comfort and style. Expansive ceilings are accompanied by intricately crafted skylights and a delicate woodworking pattern that exemplify the detail in the architecture. Throughout the court, lush landscapes surround chic and contemporary storefronts, each contributing to the refined and elegant Center Court experience. Smooth limestone pathways are intersected by natural seating vignettes, and the existing structural elements are polished with the rich wood and marble of the expansion wing. Expertly designed to accentuate the entrance into Neiman Marcus, Center Court is comprised of exclusive designer shops and serves as a retreat for the stylish and sophisticated.
Sky Garden
Vertical retail and intense, white light define the crisp, modern feel of the Sky Garden. Rising boldly and dramatically from the ground floor up 65 feet to the apex of the shopping center, the Sky Garden provides dramatic overlooks and vistas of this luxurious and fashionable shopping district. The essential “fashion sweep,” the Sky Garden begins at The Canyon and extends northward to Nordstrom’s main entrance. Within the Sky Garden, larger-than-life images are projected onto a two-story image wall, and a three-story skylight reveals views of the sky beyond a lush landscape of bamboo and exotic greenery. Contemporary, fashion-forward shops line the retail floors of the Sky Garden, intersected by humming escalators opening up to four levels of rooftop parking. An intricate network of shadows and sunlight are directed onto plush carpeting, oversized planters and sleek structural columns detailed with Douglas Fir and walnut accents. A truly brilliant spectacle, the Sky Garden is the aesthetic and architectural exclamation point of the shopping center.
Dining Terrace
An extension of The Canyon, the Dining Terrace provides an upscale dining experience amid a modern expression of landscape, architecture and design. Comprised of indoor and outdoor districts distinguished by aesthetically unique elements, the Dining Terrace offers a customized and stimulating experience for each individual guest. From the umbrellas and trellises of the alfresco terrace, to the jeweled, sparkling lights within the sculptured interior ceiling, the Dining Terrace offers a variety of dining and seating options. For an intimate feel, red rooms are comprised of rich, restaurant-style seating areas, and for a social and active experience, the grotto offers counter seating, theatrical cooking and dramatic lighting elements. Raised platforms and balconies within the terrace overlook the vast Canyon and allow guests to absorb the panoramic view of the center’s signature structure. Integrating the finest names in cuisine and service, the Dining Terrace offers a uniquely elevated culinary experience in a fashionable and contemporary environment.
The Quad
A bold and lively district with inherent appeal, The Quad is where youthful energy meets cutting edge retail and family entertainment. Home to a state-of-the-art double-decker carousel, the Westfield Playtown and a host of family-friendly in-line eateries, The Quad injects a burst of exuberance into the project. Anchored on the south by a boldly branded Target, each adjoining level of retail achieves an irresistibly unique personality.
