Shop Mobility Shop mobility makes shopping more accessible when you need a bit of help. Free wheelchairs and scooters are available for hire from our shop mobility services at the Tourist Information Centre on the upper mall by BHS & Primark. Before your visit, you should contact our Mobility Team so we can register your details and make sure we have the right equipment available for you.

We operate 4-hour hire periods throughout the day, so to avoid disappointment call us on 01384 487911.

To reserve one of our electric wheelchairs or scooters, please ring our team up to 48 hours in advance.

For Manual wheelchairs no prior booking is necessary. When you arrive, please make sure you bring with you 2 forms of identification, one which confirms your address (e.g. most recent utility bill) and the other must include your photograph (i.e. passport or concessionary travel pass).

Call us today, to see how we can help on (01384) 487911. Please note our shop mobility service is subject to availability and the opening hours of the Tourist Information Centre. All equipment must be returned half an hour before the Centre closes.

For ease of access to our Shop mobility service, we recommend you park next to the Odeon Cinema or on the undercover multi-deck car park near Bhs.
