Relationships...
Westfield is building strong and long term relationships with the local community through the key role the company will continue to play in the urban regeneration of the area. We are promoting community involvement through organised site tours, presentations to local groups including community groups and voluntary sector networks, neighbourhood watch groups and resident associations, local sponsorships, and the distribution of a regular newsletter to 7,000 local residents. Westfield either has or will be putting in place:
- 170 million pound investment in transport infrastructure;
- A hoppa bus service connecting the Edward Woods Estate and White City Estates through the new onsite bus station;
- Affordable housing schemes, delivering new homes to modern standards;
- Construction of a new library;
- Provision of nursery places;
- Multi-million pound investment in streetscape and landscape design for Wood Lane, Ariel Way and Shepherd's Bush Green;
- 10,000 sq ft starter business units;
- Provision of a town centre manager;
- Provision of an urban nature reserve;
- Funding for the complete re-landscaping of Shepherd's Bush Green and grants for new shopfronts on Uxbridge Road.
