Westfield Riccarton

Westfield Riccarton is the most complete retail, entertainment and lifestyle destination in the South Island. It offers a high-standard competitive and comparative shopping experience.

The centre is the hub of the Riccarton area, 3km from the Christchurch CBD. It is located on Riccarton Road, a major south-eastern arterial road and supported by considerable strip shopping, services and trade businesses.

The Centre is anchored by a Farmers department and homewares store, Kmart and a PAK’n SAVE supermarket. It houses more than 150 stores, including mini-majors Borders, Briscoes and Rebel Sport, and a Hoyts cinema complex. The centre also includes Rotherham Street, a restaurant and café precinct which complements the lifestyle offer.

With a high-profile location and convenient commuter access to the broader region, Westfield Riccarton serves an extended main trade area of around 350,000 people.

In 2005, Riccarton completed a NZ$90 million expansion and refurbishment. 

In September 2008 Westfield Riccarton commenced a further development which will increase the centre by 8,200 sqm.  On completion the development will introduce a new second level which could include some 40 new stores, a new auditorium at Hoyts Cinemas and a new four level car park building bringing the total number of car parks to approximately 2,400.  Westfield Riccarton is owned by Westfield Group.
