High School Musical Dance Competition

CastleCourt witnessed "the start of something new!" on Saturday 16 August by hosting the final of the High School Musical dance competition in conjunction with the Grand Opera House and Arts and Business Northern Ireland.  Celebrity Zoe Salmon helped judge the event, with CityBeat’s own Stuart Robinson hosting.  Other judes on the day included Mary Trainor from Arts and Business, Aine Dolan Education Manager from the Gradn Opera House and Sara McNeilly cheerleading coach from the All Stars Dance Academy.

The dance competition was open to young people aged between 6-12 who were competing to win ten VIP tickets to see the stage production of High School Musical when it comes to the Grand Opera House in October.  With over 80 children battling it out over 4 dance categories, the competition was extremely tough.

The four winners were, Chloe Dickson and Bobbi Neill in the 6 to 8 Category and Michaela Quinn and Oran Clarke within the 9 to 12 category, all from the Belfast area.  CastleCourt would like to congratulate all the dancers who took part in the competition.  The standard of dancing seen throughout the competition was at an extremely high standard.
